SSL Certificate Health Monitoring
Blimey automatically checks the SSL certificates of all your HTTPS monitors and provides a dedicated health overview.
Certificate Health Page
Access it from the dashboard by clicking the Certificates button. This page shows:
- All monitors with their SSL certificate status
- Certificate issuer (e.g., Let's Encrypt, DigiCert)
- Expiry date and days remaining
- Validity status — whether the certificate is currently valid
What to Watch For
- Expiring soon — certificates approaching their expiry date need renewal
- Expired — an expired certificate will cause browser security warnings for your visitors
- Invalid — mismatched domains or revoked certificates
How It Works
Every time Blimey performs a check on an HTTPS monitor, it also inspects the SSL/TLS certificate. This data is stored and displayed on both the monitor detail page and the certificate health page.
Tips
- Most certificate authorities (like Let's Encrypt) support automatic renewal — make sure it's configured
- Monitor your certificates at least 30 days before expiry to give yourself time to act
- If you see a certificate from an unexpected issuer, investigate immediately
