Setting Up Discord Webhook Notifications
Receive real-time downtime and recovery alerts in your Discord server.
Step 1: Create a Discord Webhook
- Open your Discord server
- Go to the channel where you want alerts
- Click Edit Channel (gear icon)
- Go to Integrations then Webhooks
- Click New Webhook
- Give it a name (e.g., "Blimey Alerts")
- Copy the webhook URL (starts with
https://discord.com/api/webhooks/...)
Step 2: Add the Webhook to Your Monitor
- Open the monitor's detail page in Blimey
- Click the Settings tab
- Scroll to the Discord Webhook section
- Paste your webhook URL
- Click Save
Step 3: Test the Webhook
After saving, click the Test button to send a test message to your Discord channel. You should see an embedded message confirming the connection works.
Alert Format
Discord alerts use rich embeds with:
- Color-coded border (red for downtime, green for recovery)
- Monitor name and URL
- Error details (for downtime alerts)
- Timestamp
