What Happens When I Hit My Monitor Limit?

What Happens When I Hit My Monitor Limit?

Each plan has a maximum number of active monitors you can have at one time.

When You Try to Add More

If you try to add a new monitor when you've reached your plan's limit:

  • You'll see an error message explaining you've hit the limit
  • The monitor will not be created
  • You'll need to either delete an existing monitor or upgrade your plan

When You Downgrade

If you downgrade to a plan with a lower limit and have more monitors than the new limit allows:

  • Excess monitors are automatically paused by the system
  • They show a "Limit reached" badge on the dashboard
  • They retain all historical data but stop performing checks
  • You cannot manually unpause them

How to Free Up Slots

  1. Delete monitors you no longer need
  2. Pause monitors manually (paused monitors still count toward your limit, but freeing active slots)
  3. Upgrade your plan for a higher limit

Re-enabling System-Paused Monitors

System-paused monitors can only be re-enabled by:

  • Upgrading to a plan with a sufficient limit (they auto-resume)
  • Deleting other monitors to bring your count below the limit
